Club career
Richards made his professional debut for Swansea City in a Championship match against Middlesbrough in the 3'0 loss on 15 August 2009, replacing Shaun MacDonald as a substitute in the 63rd minute. He has since started in games against Preston North End and Bristol City playing 90 minutes in both fixtures.
He was rewarded as the second successful youth product after Joe Allen with a new contract on 27 October.
International career
Richards has represented Wales under-17 and Wales under-19. He was called up to the under-21 squad, to face Luxembourg under-21 in March 2009. On the 27 May 2012 he gained his first full international cap for Wales as a substitute in the 79th minute of the friendly match versus Mexico.
